Dear Slater-Marietta Community, 

We are thrilled to announce an exciting transformation of our beloved Farmers market!

The Slater-Marietta Farmers Market will now be known as the Slater-Marietta Community Market. Along with the new name, we are shifting our hours to the ** 2nd Saturday of the month from 9:00 a.m to 12:00 p.m. 

Why the change? 

With it being the nation’s 250 year anniversary, the SMCA is kicking off our “Community Strong” initiative this year, our purpose for the market is as follows:

Community focus: 

The new name reflects our commitment to fostering a vibrant community space where everyone is welcome. The Slater-Marietta Community Market (SMCM) will showcase not only fresh produce but also local crafts, artisans, children’s activities, and a variety of community-driven activities. These events are targeted not only to bring a space for the community to come together, but also uniting building a "Stronger Community", and the final mission is to make improvements to the community where we all live, work, and play!

Convenient Hours: By hosting the Community Market on Saturday mornings, we aim to make it easier for families, individuals, and vendors to visit and enjoy the market. This time allows for a relaxing experience without the rush of evening commitments, making it perfect for vendors to sell and a perfect time for the community to gather for a morning outing.  

Expanded offerings: With the new market hours, expect an array of local goods, from handmade crafts to delicious baked treats. Our new schedule allows vendors to provide services earlier in the day, so they can enjoy the remaining weekend. 

New Team Members:

The Market is excited to introduce a new team that are dedicated to creating a new events and a new market for everyone to enjoy. 

The current team feels the new schedule will also allow us to host special events, cooking demonstrations, and activities that highlight the best our community has to offer. 

Our aim is to also highlight our small town, our rich history, honor the tight network of family and friends, the community’s exceptionly low carbon footprint, and our diversity. 

Our hope is you will come along and be a part of this journey. We look forward to welcoming you to the Slater-Marietta Community Market this June, August, and September. We will also be hosting a Fall event in October and a Holiday Market in November.
