The Strawberry Festival was established in 2002 as a fundraiser for Foothills Family Resources, a nonprofit providing access to health and welfare programs to the residents of northern Greenville County and as a way to celebrate the local community and local strawberry farmers. The festival continued to grown until its last edition in 2019. Like the rest of the world in 2020, the festival was canceled in 2020 and concerns over future shutdowns led to the canceling of the 2021 festival. Interest in restarting the festival began as the world returned to normal; however, we learned our host site, the historical Slater Hall Community Center, would be slated for a $1,000,000+ rehabilitation project. NOW, we are looking forward to reopening Slater Hall (along with supporting our local nonprofits) with the biggest bash of all-- THE SLATER-MARIETTA STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL!
