*and the Kids Market!
The Association is looking to bring back the Strawberry Festival to Slater Hall in 2026. However in the meantime, the first Farmers Market on May 10th will feature a lite Strawberry Festival with food vendors featuring Strawberry Creations. We will also be listening to feedback from visitors on what they would like to see at a revived Strawberry Festival.
If you have visited the mill hill recently, you may have noticed that our historic community center, Slater Hall, is undergoing a major rehabilitation project that will restore many historical elements of the building, upgrade the facility to meet the needs of current and future programs, and to allow full use of the facility. The project is expected to continue until the Fall of 2025.
Despite construction, programs are still happening at Slater Hall. The After School and Active Adult (Senior) Programs will be wrapping up at the end of the month. Summer Camp will run from June 2nd to August 1st. After School and Active Adults will resume with the start of school on August 11th. Please contact the center at 864-610-2254 or email Zachary Deuerling (zdeuerling@greenvillecounty.org), Center Manager for information. Once construction is finished, the center will be available for additional programs and rentals. You will need to contact the center for more information.
Also as part of the construction project, a timeline and display of community history is in the works. If you have any historical photos, stories, or information, please share it with us and keep our community's story alive.
